The DWC is proud to give Mrs. Montag (Principal of JF Burns) a check in the amount of $2,000 for the Holiday Workshop of 2013.
This is one of the charities that the DWC supports. They are located in Mason and is a very small organization. It’s amazing that they do as much as they do. We will be presenting them a check to help with their efforts.
Here is a copy of their newsletter.

DWC/Pink Truck Project has partnered with Mary Jo Cropper Family for Breast Cancer located at Bethesda North Hospital. DWC had the pleasure of meeting with Dr. Susan Weinberg and the Mary Jo Cropper Family for Breast Cancer staff a couple of weeks ago. They advised that no person is turned away – even if you don’t have insurance or your scope of recovery is beyond what insurance pays.

“Health Care Hero: Susan Weinberg, MD. Spending the past 15 years as medical director for the Breast Center at Bethesda North – and the last 30 on staff – wasn’t enough for this health care hero. In 2009, Dr. Weinberg helped establish the Mary Jo Cropper Family Center for Breast Care. And today, she’s turning that passion into a significant gift for the future of breast health, by donating her life insurance policy – 75 percent to the Cropper Center and 25 percent to Hospice of Cincinnati.
Dr. Weinberg worked with her financial advisor and Bethesda Foundation to make her planned gift possible, and admitted it had never occurred to her to donate that way. “I had no clue that I could do something like this,” she says. But she’s glad she did.
“It’s just a feeling that you’re doing the right thing, that you’re helping the next generation and looking out for others.” Dr. Weinberg says.”
It is an honor to work with Dr. Susan Weinberg and her staff….DWC/Pink Truck Project is excited about our partnership.
‘Volunteering does more than just make you feel good. Studies show that people who volunteer live longer, healthier lives and enjoy lower rates of depression and hearth disease. “I witness this daily in volunteers of all ages,” says the Rev Lisa Bryan, supervisor of Volunteer Services for Good Samaritan Hospital. “I think volunteering improves health by improving well-being, from the social aspect of forming friendships to the physical aspect of just being more active. Some of our volunteers log up to five miles a day.”
“As a volunteer, I get to see how patients benefit from what I do firsthand every day – but they give me back as much as I give them,” says Marie Rich, a volunteer with the pet therapy group at Bethesda North Hospital’ Information has been provided by Tri Health News Spring 2013
