We hosted a *FUNdraiser* event to benefit the Warren County Sheriff’s D.A.R.E. program on Monday, June 21, 2010 from 6pm to 9pm at the Claddagh Irish Pub on Mason-Montgomery Rd.
We had “surprise” bartenders, raffles and “split-the-pot”. Claddagh Irish Pub generously donated 10% of sales that evening. It was a GREAT family-friendly event.
The Deerfield Women’s Club and The Claddagh Irish Pub donated $1,400 to the Waren County Sheriff’s Dare Program!
Besides raising money – about $3,000 each year – club members volunteer at the school and run a holiday workshop so students can buy gifts to give to others. “They are amazing,” said J.F. Burns Elementary Principal Cheryl Montag. Donations from the Deerfield Women’s Club have been used to buy library furniture, playground benches and other needed items at the school. “They’re definitely part of our family,” Montag said. “They are just super supportive of our school and our district.”
Spring Will Be Here Soon!
Run for the Green March 13th!
It’s never too early to think about Spring which is only a few short months away, and that means it’s time for our Annual St. Patrick’s Day Run for the Green Trail Race/Walk!
This one-of-a-kind run/walk will be held at 9 a.m. on Saturday, March 13, 2010 in Landen-Deerfield Park on US 22 and 3 (Montgomery Road). The 3.1 mile trail winds through grass fields and densely wooded, dirt/mud trails within Landen-Deerfield Park, with elevation changes of up to 50 feet, with two calf-deep creek crossings.
It’s fun, fast and a great way to support Deerfield Parks, with all proceeds benefiting our park system. For complete information, course map, directions and online registration, visit www.RunningTime.net.

This past June the Deerfield Womens Club hosted a fundraising event at “bd’s Mongolian Grill” in Mason to assist the Deerfield Township Post purchase a patrol bicycle.
With generous support from local businesses, providing door prizes, gift baskets and cash donations, along with a percentage of the gross sales on the night of the event donated by ““bd’s Mongolian Grill,” a total of over $1477.07 was raised by the Deerfield Womens Club to purchase the needed bicycle and specialized equipment.
The Deerfield Women’s Club meets the 2nd Wednesday each month at 7pm. If you are interested in learning more about our organization, please call Diane @ 535-8060.
