Community Yard Sale is a HUGE success!!

  • Live in an apartment or condo?
  • Can’t have a yard sale in your community?
  • Not a lot of traffic on your street?
  • Interested in participating in a large multi family sale?
  • Want to donate to the Thank You Foundation for military families?

Then you need to check out the Community Yard Sale at 20 Mile House (old Red Rock Tavern).  You pay $15 for a parking space (that $15 is donated to the Thank You Foundation) and you sit back, sell your stuff and collect the money!

The Deerfield Women’s Club does all of the advertising and provides the spaces.  We have had up to 15 sellers on the lot and over 100 buyers.  Can you get that traffic at your house?

The sale is held on the last day of the month from March to October from 9 am to 12 pm.

Any questions about the Community Yard Sale or the Deerfield Women’s Club, please email deerfieldwomensclub@yahoo.com or call Shelley at 513-489-0900.

May and June 2011 Events

The club has been very busy. When the Sheriff’s Department called us to help with Sgt. Dulle’s funderal and fundraiser, we gladly accepted. We were so sad to hear of his death and wanted to help in any way we could.  At the funeral, there were so many law enforcement officers and unbearable heat, we made sure that all of the officers were hydrated.  At Sgt. Dulle’s fundraiser, we helped with the live and silent auctions.

We also received a call from Deerfield Twp to help with the Cincinnati Pop’s concert. They asked us to transport folks via golf carts from the parking lot to the concert.  Unfortunately, the concert was rained out but we look forward to helping again if the concert is rescheduled.  We also helped with the Veterans Run at Cottell Park.  We helped with registration and food and drinks for the runners.

We also had a HUGE turnout for the Community Yard Sale in May. We had 10 sellers and over 150 carloads of buyers. We look forward the June Sale on June 25, 2011.

DWC lends a helping hand

The Warren County Sheriff’s Office asked us to help with fallen Sgt. Brian Dulle’s funeral. They were anticipating thousands of people and needed volunteers to help with parking. Without question, eight of us volunteered.

I was amazed at the number of people officers that attended the funeral. Most did not know Sgt. Dulle personally. I did not realize that there was a bond or “brotherhood” that law enforcement had.

There were more than 300 police cars and over 500 vehicles that traveled to the cemetary. It was something that I will NEVER forget. Personally, I was honored to volunteer and I will continue to pray for his family.

Deerfield Township’s Run for the Green Race

Deerfield Women's Club members: Shelley Tobin, Kerine Williams, Jennifer VanNimwegen & Debbie Quackenbush

The Deerfield Women’s Club helps Deerfield Township with another Run for the Green Race.  The weather was chilly and the ground was wet but that did not stop the DWC from helping with the Race again.  We donated the water and helped with the set up/clean up and maintaining the food and drinks for the race.  This is a fun event where the runners get a little dirty but everyone loves the tough course.

Deerfield Women’s Club donates money to JF Burns Elementary School

Due to the huge success of the Holiday Workshop (kids are given the opportunity during the holidays to purchase items for their loved ones), we were able to donate $1800 to the PTO of JF Burns Elementary School. A special thanks to all of the mother’s that helped this year. We could not do it without you!

Deerfield Women’s Club helps homeless pets

During the month of January, several women helped sell dog tags for the Humane Association of Warren County. We sold the tags so the staff could focus on adoptions. We helped raise money for the spay and neuter program for the shelter.

We also help by walking dogs and playing with the cats.

Anyone interested in learning more about the Humane Association of Warren County or would like to volunteer, please call 513-261-1176.
